December 5^th, 2009 marked the end for howling heroes of the local basement scene, Army of Saint Joan. Their epic first and final recorded output: Dissonant Unison documents the band’s entire career with ten essential ripping Guitar Wolf-inspired headbangers recorded at Pebble, the Meatlocker, and Robot Kill City’s old attic on Lisgar. We’re moving BT HQ a couple blocks away, so things have been pretty hectic since the New Years Eve mega party with Holy Cobras, Homosexual Cops, Suppositories, Pregnancy Scares, Total Crush, and Get a Life Losers.

We’re teaming up with Capital Distraction to bring the Cobras back together with everyone’s favouite Montreal/Bruised Tongue/Campaign for Infinity/Divorce proto-punk masters: the mighty Grand Trine. Joining them will be The Blind Shake from Minneapolis.  3-piece heavy baritone psych groovers we’re all pretty excited about. It’s all happening Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 11:00pm at Babylon.

Crazy Ocean + Self Surgery = Total Crush, who will be playing with Montreal’s Red Mass at Rock n’ Roll Pizza Party at Atomic Rooster January 22nd.  This week is stacked.

Much more news on the way, and plenty of new releases for the new year once we get things up and running in the new location.  Hopefully having a proper office means we’ll be able to take things up a notch as far as organization and water-cooler chat is concerned. Office punk.

Holy hell have the past 46 days ever been a mindblow!!!  The Bruised Tongue camp have taken a little bit of a vacation, but it’s hardly been a slack-off.

So it is finally complete. Fucked Corpse’s Led Zeppelin Four full-length cassette is out and ready to blow minds . The longest tape that we have released so far is full of low-fi stoner pop gems that will leave you wanting more.  Losing the spazzy edge for something a little bit harder and heavier, this tape picks up where the raw and real Denim Outta Here demo-single left off. Led Zeppelin Four features guest appearances by Adam Saikaley, members of Nervous System, The Felines, The Balconies, Holy Cobras, Zebrassieres, and a whole bunch of friends.

Good news travels fast, and after a brainburner of a show at Friendship Cove  book-ended by a pair of sweaty basement freakouts, Nervous System’s Burning White Light sold out of it’s limited run of 60 in no time. Originally planned to be released as a two-sided single, the album quickly transformed into an 8-song full-length as jams were improvised during recording, and looped by master of disaster Ian Showalter (member of Suppositories, producer of Holy Cobras‘ Make Pyramids‘) into a perfect blend of heavy spaced out freak-punk.

Self Surgery snuck back into our subconscious again with From Inside the Field, another limited release of very evil live vocal loops weaved through sonic soundscapes using found psychic reading cassettes. Recorded by Ryan from Fucked Corpse. Limited release of 15, nearly sold out.
